FOTAS Aiken is a nonprofit organization classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity. All donations to FOTAS Aiken are tax-deductible. to the extent permitted by law. Our efforts solely support the Aiken County Animal Shelter.
FOTAS Aiken was founded in 2009 to support the homeless pets of the Aiken County Animal Shelter with the help of our dedicated volunteers.
Our small group of volunteers are actively working on these goals:

- Promote responsible pet ownership
- Reduce cat and dog overpopulation
- Reduce and eventually eliminate euthanasia of adoptable pets
- Promoting successful adoptions
- Advocate for animals via:
- Promoting spay/neuter programs
- Transferring our adoptable pets to no-kill shelters
- Coordinating various fundraising events
- Recruiting volunteers from our community
- Making improvements at the shelter for the animals
- Raising awareness to our current statistics
- Working jointly with Aiken County Officials to build a new shelter to meet the needs of the County animals.
