About FOTAS Aiken

Our Mission

To help the Aiken County Animal Shelter become a happy, healthy place that never has to euthanize an adoptable pet!

Who We Are...

FOTAS Aiken was founded in 2009 to support the homeless pets of the Aiken County Animal Shelter with the help of our dedicated volunteers.

FOTAS Aiken is a nonprofit organization classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity. All donations to FOTAS Aiken are fully tax-deductible. Our efforts solely support the Aiken County Animal Shelter.

We are actively working on these goals:
  • Promoting successful adoptions
  • Promoting spay/neuter programs
  • Transferring our adoptable pets to no-kill shelters
  • Coordinating various fundraising events
  • Recruiting volunteers from our community
  • Making improvements at the shelter for the animals
  • Raising awareness to our current statistics
The Aiken County Animal Shelter must accept 5,200 abandoned, neglected, injured, abused, sick or wild dogs and cats every year. Most of these domestic animals have been or could be great pets. Sadly, 8 out of 10 dogs and cats at the shelter are euthanized due to pet overpopulation.
