Who We Are

The Animal Services Division of the Public Works & Engineering Department operates and maintains the County Animal Shelter and enforces County Ordinances regarding animal control.

The Aiken County Animal Shelter provides:

• Pet Adoptions
• Animal Rescue
• Response to cruelty complaints
• Enforcement of the County's Animal Control ordinances
• Picks up and shelters stray, sick, and/or injured animals
• Microchip implant
• Quarantines animals that have bitten someone
• Spay and Neuter Voucher Program

Our Adoptable Pet List

The Aiken County Animal Shelter has many adorable stray and unclaimed pets who are seeking responsible owners. With a little bit of planning, adopting a pet is a wonderful experience. We suggest visiting the shelter to spend some quality time with your prospective pet.

The adoption fee is $70 for dogs, which covers rabies vaccination, microchipping, and spay/neuter. Cats are currently half price at $35.
