There are plans underway by the County of Aiken to replace the existing outdated and overloaded shelter with a better facility that can accommodate the numbers of animals brought to the shelter daily. It will also help them live in a healthy environment where they can be cared for until they can be possibly adopted. FOTAS Aiken is working closely with the County Board and the Community to raise additional funds to ensure that the facility can meet the needs of Aiken County. Our goal is to provide an immediate safe and healthy haven for all animals received currently until we can do more to promote responsible pet ownership and teach the people of Aiken County the benefits of spay and neuter programs for the animals health and well being and that of their offspring.
