Our son renamed her Maple, and he has been taking good care of her (with help from us, too!). She’s a sweet girl and loves having her tummy rubbed and appreciates a thorough neck and shoulder scratch.
She’s prone to react nervously about some things. For example, when we take her for a walk, she often refuses to pass our garage if it’s open. Our son has been working with her to have her walk beside him and not pull at the leash. She’s doing pretty well at that, but it’s still early.
She eats well and is even willing to share her water with the cats! For the most part, the cats politely ignore Maple and she respects their space.
She’s not playful like a puppy, but she does love her tummy rubs, going for walks, sniffing around the yard when we are outside, and just hanging out wherever we are. All in all Maple seems to be doing well, and we are likewise adjusting to having her in our family.
