The mission of FOTAS is to support the Aiken County Animal Shelter by promoting animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the elimination of euthanasia of all adoptable animals.

Adopter: Buckalew
Adoption Date: Summer 2022

I feel that since day one she’s been perfect! First night with me she made herself very comfortable on the couch lol. By night 3 she was sleeping on the floor by my bed, which is now her usual spot. No issues with behavior or eating (she likes her food!). I took her to the vet a week or two after I adopted her so they could check her hip. They said she has hip dysplasia in both hips, but we’re currently treating with joint supplements and a daily anti-inflammatory. So far she seems to be doing well with that treatment. Otherwise she’s perfectly healthy 🙂 She gets along with my family, friends, and her cat brother, and is a happy pup. She especially enjoys walks, car rides, and stopping at Starbucks for a pup cup. Hoping to take her on some adventures soon. The past week or so I think she’s realized that she’s found her home and she’s showing more of her spunky and playful side.
Thank you and all of the shelter staff and volunteers for the hard work you do. I’m glad you all found her and that I was able to adopt her. It’s only been about 2.5 months and I really can’t remember what I did before she showed up:)
